Before you start:

It is important to note your new pump top is made from solid, uncoated brass. Please read the following carefully to make sure you get the most out your new product. 

The ratios of copper and zinc in our brass mean that it is a softer metal. Please avoid over-tightening the connecting screws as this may lead to damage of the threads.

Bare skin contact on brass can leave print marks or blemishes. To avoid markings, we have provided a nitrile glove for use during the install. In addition over time, brass components naturally develop a patina due to exposure to air and moisture. We believe this to be a unique benefit to using brass components. 

Rest assured that visual changes to the brass top will not affect the performance of the pump top. 

If over the life of the product you wish to restore the original natural finish, then this is done easily using any metal polishing compound and a clean rag or microfibre towel. After polishing, make sure to remove any polishing residue, especially around the ports, to ensure a good seal.
